Lakshmi is an Architect-Urban Designer by profession and an academic by passion. Having completed her graduation in architecture from Kerala University and post graduation in Urban Design from School of Planning and Architecture New Delhi, she is currently pursuing her PhD in Neurourbanism at National Institute of Technology Calicut. She has over 5 years of experience in academia where she was involved in Urban Design studios featuring islands of Lakshadweep and various other historic port cities along the coast of Arabian sea. She is also an avid heritage activist responding to various heritage and urban challenges in the city of Calicut and was part of a campaign to restore a 100 year old colonial school building.
