The Scottish cemetery in Kolkata currently has no relation to its surrounding area and therefore the local inhabitants do not have a sense of belonging to the public space in front of them, despite finding themselves in the most relevant axes of Kolkata. Based on these premises, it has been proposed to develop a series of acupuncture urban interventions that forged the link between the local inhabitant and the space, promoting recreation, local economy, education and belonging as pride of living in the place.

  • City Level intervention - connect the Scottish Links through an interactive Tourist circuit - and make it a talked part of city’s heritage

  • Neighbourhood Level intervention - Develop surroundings of the cemetery for users like - Tourist , Local, Youth/kids and Work professional

  • Cemetery Level Changes :

  • Nursery project (2 months) to develop a key local economy

  • Painting Wall (2 months) to connect the young generation with the area
