About
All across the planet, extreme weather and water scarcity now inflame and exacerbate existing social conflicts. “
—Christian Parenti, Tropic of Chaos: Climate Change and the New Geography of Violence, 2012
How can water and urbanism be considered together as a generative framework for urban design practice, social life, and ecological regeneration?
With climate change impacting communities across the world, it is imperative that we design communities that live with and for water in urban areas. Understanding regional water dynamics therefore becomes crucial in developing sustainable and resilient urban systems.
Join us for our Auda Talk Series 03 with Dissa Pidanti Raras, a landscape and urban designer from Indonesia currently working in Ramboll Studio Dreseitl, Singapore and Ishleen Kaur, working as a senior environment specialist with Water and Environmental vertical at the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), India to learn about water urbanism in the most vulnerable areas in South East Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.
